Backlinks are incoming links to a website or web page.  The number of backlinks pointing to a website or page is an indication of how important a website or page is viewed.  So lets think about this for a minute.  Your number one priority in affiliate marketing is to get your website noticed.  So if we take the definition of a backlink we can come to the conclusion that the more backlinks you have pointing to your website the more important you will seem.  The more important your website appears to be the more attention the powerhouses of the internet, (Google, Yahoo, etc), will pay to your website.

Now that you have the definition of a backlink here is how you start to get them.  Start writing in your blog as often as you can, make posts is several different forums, write articles and make comments on other peoples blogs.  In each one of these methods you are going to leave your calling card, your name and website address.  For forums this is called a signature, in articles it’s called a resource box and blogs it is as easy as leaving your name and website address in the fields provided.

A lot of people find themselves asking if it is really possible to become a successful earning affiliate and still continue to work at their office job. The answer is yes. This may surprise some people. Handling a home business and an outside job can be difficult but the key is that you are capable if you try. Here are three main things you want to keep in mind if you truly want to succeed.

Desire! Your desire to become a successful earning affiliate is what really matters. If you want to keep your current job as well as begin your own home business you truly have to be focused on being able to do so. Without a strong will and desire that will drive you to do what is necessary you will be doomed to fail. By doing what is necessary to maintain your home and away from home businesses you will be taking the first step on the way to affiliate earning freedom.

Time! Time is a serious constraint when it comes to working two jobs. Everything in this day and age is about rushing and stretching what time we have. This is all the more true when trying to become a successful affiliate and work a regular job. You have to be willing to make time. What this means is you must be willing to use whatever free time you have from your office job and apply it to your home business. You can have time to do both but you must use your available time wisely. It all goes back to having the desire to do what is necessary to become successful.

Patience! This is something, (myself included), we all need more of. You will need to be very enduring, especially at the beginning, when running both your home business and regular job. It will be easy to become frustrated at times, waiting for advertising or trying to place updates on your website. You will be frustrated with customer or clients from both jobs. By building patience you will become more successful with your home business and your regular job.

Desire, Time and Patience all go in hand when trying to become a successful earning affiliate and managing an outside job. You have to be efficient with your time and manage it wisely. Keep focused on your goal. Just remember to be patient, because success rarely happens overnight and not everyone you will encounter in your job has patience or understanding. This is a little chewing out I gave to myself today after I realized that I am not acting like a successful earning affiliate.  I thought maybe some of you could use a little motivation as well.  Sometimes we all need a god kick in the pants.  Of course I have cleaned it up a bit for our family viewers.

Are you running your business like a  Green Beret or a Cub Scout?  Are you using the tactics that the most successful earning affiliates are using?  No you are not.  Well now is the time to buckle down and get to work.

First-Start writing in your blog everyday or at least every other day.

Second-Read, read read.  You have got to do some research on what the competition is doing to stay one step ahead.

Third-Write more articles and get them submitted to the Submit Your Article service for distribution.

Lastly- Try to have some fun.  Just because this is a business doesn’t mean it can’t be fun.

We can all be a little hard on ourselves at times and it is easy to get down in the dumps.  The trick is to use it to your advantage.  Allow your feelings to motivate you.  When you say I can’t do this that little voice inside you needs to perk up and say, oh yes you can!!  Just say to yourself I can and will succeed.  If I didn’t do this I wouldn’t be bothering with this blog right now.  But I am I will be a successful businessman.  Now if you will excuse me it’s time to get back to work on the affiliate earning website, there is money to be made.  Take care everybody, Tim Stokes

Lately I have been hearing a lot of talk about paid surveys.  What are paid surveys you ask??  Paid surveys are just what the name implies, you get paid for taking a survey.  Surveys are put out by companies that want your opinion on a product or how you would react to an advertisement of a product. These companies need and want the public’s opinion because lets face it, the public is going to buy or not buy their product.

The good thing for us, the public, is that companies are willing to pay for our opinion.  How much depends on the company and length of the survey.  A person that takes five or six surveys a day may make as much as $500.00 a month or more.  You may not get rich taking surveys but $500.00 per month for work I can do in my spare time is a nice little present come bill time.

To begin earning money by taking surveys you first need to find a reputable program to join, one that handles surveys for a lot of companies.  There are many free to join programs out there and some that require a subscription.  One of the more profitable sites to join is Maximum Paid Surveys.  They offer surveys, secret shopper and focus group programs.  Some of the programs pay better than the others but don’t let that be the determining factor.  Pick a program that you think you will like best and remember your opinion could be responsible for how a product is made and advertised.

I remember a few years back I took a survey from a fast food chain, it’s the company that sells Mexican-American food from a building with a bell on top.  You know which one I mean right?  They wanted to know how I would like this particular product’s advertisement to look for television.  Anyway a few months later I was surprised to see a commercial from this company advertising the product I took a survey on.  It was really obvious that they were paying attention to the surveys they sent out for this commercial.  It was a really cool feeling to think I may have influenced this commercial.

Proper article submission is just as important as the actual article itself.  Lets face it if people can’t find your article they sure can’t read it.  Do a Google search for article submission and see how many you find.  Wait I’ll do that for you, 8,790,000 at the time of this writing.  Surely there must be a duplicate or two in there, oh well lets just say there is a bunch of article directories out there.

Now, you can submit your articles manually to as many directories as you like.  Just don’t submit the same article to the same directory more than once unless you do a substantial change to it.  If you are like me and time is not something you have a whole lot of, there are article submission services out there to ease the pain of submission.  I use a service called Submit Your Article.  This service allows me to submit articles to multiple directories with the click of the mouse.  It is a huge time saver.
