How would you like to earn a commission every month from just one sale?  Sounds fantastic doesn’t it and yes there is such a thing.  It’s called residual income or recurring income.  Today I am going to let you in on some of the secrets of the affiliate business and show you how to become a residual income affiliate.

First off let’s talk about two tier affiliate programs.  These types of programs pay you for sales but they also pay you for sales from any affiliates you may recruit.  The trick is to build a group of motivated affiliates that are willing to work their business as a business and not a hobby.

Affiliates will come and go, that is a fact.  Don’t be let down when they go because you will actually be better off.  The ones that stick around and work hard are the ones who will not only make a good living for you but for themselves.

You can also sell residual income programs that have a monthly membership fee. An example is a training program such as Success University. With Success University you are not only selling a top notch motivational and personal development program but you and your affiliates will earn a paycheck every month for each of your sign ups.

Another example is to sell some products that people are going to need every month.  Website hosting is an excellent example because a website without a host won’t be much of a website.

And finally, why not create your own products and let affiliates sell them for you.  For example, I have a friend who is a wiz with search engine optimization.  She wrote an e-book on the subject and uses Clickbank to sell it online.  She also uses affiliates to sell the book for her.    Not only does she make a great monthly income from her book but her affiliates also profit from the sales they make.

Everybody and I do mean everybody has a weakness.  If you’re new to internet marketing then there is a slight chance I know what your weakness is.  No I’m not psychic but my wife does say I’m psycho sometimes, (We have a mutual understanding, I’m nuts!!)

Today I have some internet business tips for those of you being challenged by the internet and remember I have been there.

It’s time to enroll in spy school.  You are the new 007 but instead of using a Walther PPK you are using the search engines.  Take some time and see what your competition is up to.  Check out their websites, their blogs and see how they have arranged things.  Check out their back links and see how far you have to go to catch up.  Also look and see if they are offering any incentives such as free e-books or discounted merchandise.

Do you have a good understanding what your target audience is looking for?  Hopefully you have set up your website with keywords that pertain to your area of business.  I mean it would be really dumb to have a website optimized for the search engines with the keyword fruit basket when you’re trying to sell fishing rods.  Can you see my meaning??

Do you own a blog?  As far as internet marketing goes, blogging is the greatest tool since the invention of the computer itself.  You have to take the time and reach out to your audience if you are going to be successful.  I am no Billy Shakespeare but I do know the importance of blogging.  For more on blogging check out my post How To Blog For Profit posted on 12/20/08.

Take advantage of all of the free marketing methods out there.  Write articles, social bookmarking, submit your website to link directories, (there are thousands of free directories out there).  But here is the thing, keep it going.  Don’t stop, keep building those back links and keep reaching out to your audience.

Don’t be afraid to outsource some of your marketing chores.  For example, I use a service called Submit Your Article that automatically submits my articles to several sites.  Sure I pay $37.00 per month for this service but the time it saves me is incredible.  And since article marketing is so important it keeps me going in the right direction.

And finally have a game plan.  If you were going to the bank to get a loan for a business they would want to see a copy of your business plan.  Just because you are running your own business at home doesn’t mean this is any less important.  And if your plan isn’t working, analyze it, make some changes and begin again.

Good evening everybody.  A couple of weeks ago I made a post about how to improve your article marketing strategy.  Since article writing is such an important part of internet marketing I thought I should give out some more information.  So today I am going to help you with a post concentrating on how to write more articles.

The first rule to increase your article writing efforts is to write about a subject you know.  The less time you have to spend researching a subject, the more articles you can write.  If you are new to the field you are writing about, take some time and learn about your business.  Your readers will thank you and your articles will flow out much more smoothly.

Next, try and shorten your articles.  Many article directories only require that you write a 250 word article while others may require a 400 word article.  There will be times when you are so excited about a subject that you will put out 500 word articles, which is great.  But don’t feel you have to do this all the time.

Love what you are doing and it will show in the articles you write.  The public can sense when you are writing just because you have to.  So if you are in a niche that you really like, your articles will come quicker and the public will sense the excitement you have for your business.  (Hey that was two for the price of one, but since we are all friends here there will be no charge!!)

And finally, write in an area without distractions.  This may be easier said then done especially those of you with a large family.  But for me this is a necessity, I loose my train of thought very easily which is why I am no longer an air traffic controller, just kidding.  But I do need my space while I am working.

You and I both know that the internet continuously evolves but there is one thing that remains a constant, the power of a good article marketing strategy.  Articles rich in good keywords can bring lots of traffic from article directories and search engines.

Today we are going to talk about how to improve your article writing and article marketing strategy.

1. You must develop a lengthy list of keywords for the niche your business is in. There is no excuse for not having a quality list of key words today.

There are many free keyword research tools including Google and Wordtracker which help you put together a targeted list to start with. Writing the best possible article you can starts with knowing what keywords you are building your article around.

2. Practice writing eye catching titles.  One method to do this is to visit your favorite article directory and look at some of the articles that have been written.

You can create a file of potential titles that you like for your future articles.  Don’t forget that your title must also be rich with keywords to get the attention of readers and the search engines.

3. Concentrate on writing the best article you possibly can. This does not mean your article has to be long. Some of the best articles are ones that focus on a primary theme and nothing more. You can do this by making your words count and not by rambling on and on.

4.  Understand the importance of your first paragraph. People are busy today and you have a small window of opportunity to catch their attention. Write a strong first paragraph that makes them want to continue reading the rest of your article.

In this post I am going to let you in on one of the most powerful marketing techniques available.  Blogging has become a global phenomenon in recent years with millions of people blogging their thoughts every day.  Thousands of blogs are popping up every day and if you don’t have one then it’s time to get one.  Today we are going to discuss how to blog for profit.

Millions of dollars are being earned with the use of blogs by large corporations and small businesses alike.  These companies realize the power of blogging and use their blogs to reach out to consumers to discuss their business operations and ideas.

Blogging platforms such as Google’s blogger and this Wordpress blog I am using, are abundant and can be customized to fit your needs and likes.  I personally really appreciate the ease of operation of the Wordpress blog as it is easily customizable and has several different themes available.

Before you begin your blog let’s talk a minute about where to host your blog.  If you have a website, host your blog with your current domain name.  This is a must!!  It gives your site credibility and shows the public that you are not just trying to sell something you know nothing about.  It tells people that you have great ideas and that you are a potential problem solver.  If you don’t have a website, get one and start blogging.

Now that you are ready to post to your blog you need to have a subject.  This is where good keyword research comes in.  Keyword research is vital to your business in every facet, no ifs ands or buts.   Use Google’s keyword tool and enter a phrase you want to make a post about.  For example let’s say you want to write about affiliate marketing.  When you enter affiliate marketing into the keyword tool a list will come up with your keyword choice along with some alternate keywords.  At first try not to pick a keyword with a lot of competition because you want your post to be read and it may be hard to compete with some of the big boys.

(Keywords are words or phrases that people enter into the search engines to find something on a particular subject, just in case you didn’t know.)

Next, place your keywords into the title of your blog and two or three times throughout your post.  Don’t overdo it or the search engines may think your spamming which is a bad thing.  Write a good post, make your points clear and remember your trying to help somebody who has taken the time to search for this subject and is looking for you to guide them.

How often should you make a blog post?  I would love to make a post every day but of course time always seems to get the better of me.  So make a post as often as you can, at least twice a week.  Remember the more posts you make and the more keywords you target the more visitors you will get.  And isn’t that why we are in business for ourselves.  Get visitors to our website so we don’t have to struggle with commute traffic every morning!!
