Have you heard of the word Backlink? No, well then you’re in luck because I am going to discuss what backlinks are and why they are important to you as an affiliate marketer.
Backlinks are incoming links to a website or web page. The number of backlinks pointing to a website or page is an indication of how important a website or page is viewed. So lets think about this for a minute. Your number one priority in affiliate marketing is to get your website noticed. So if we take the definition of a backlink we can come to the conclusion that the more backlinks you have pointing to your website the more important you will seem. The more important your website appears to be the more attention the powerhouses of the internet, (Google, Yahoo, etc), will pay to your website.
Now that you have the definition of a backlink here is how you start to get them. Start writing in your blog as often as you can, make posts is several different forums, write articles and make comments on other peoples blogs. In each one of these methods you are going to leave your calling card, your name and website address. For forums this is called a signature, in articles it’s called a resource box and blogs it is as easy as leaving your name and website address in the fields provided.
The most important thing to remember about backilinks is that you need to do all of the methods I described and do them a lot. Remember you are trying to get noticed and that can be a difficult thing to do on the internet. But with some diligence and patience you too can be on your way to becoming a successful earning affiliate. Take care, Tim Stokes.
